This ultralight BJJ gi is made comfortably and affordably to fit you! The look is clean from the start but of course, you can put patches of your choosing on it. So, why do we want the thinner fabric? The thinner fabric is more comfortable and it dries faster after washing.
The pants are made of 10 Oz ripstop and just like the jacket pre-shrunk and prewashed 100 % cotton fabric. (Cheaper brands often only use 8 OZ fabric for the pants.)
Important: We (www.simplybjj.com) DO NOT take any form of responsibility for the gi if you fail to follow the washing instructions stated below.
The belt is not included when you buy the gi.
Always wash your gi in cold water (30°) and hang dry it. This is the best practice for longevity and for minimizing the shrinkage of the gi. You can use softener in moderate doses as long as it's free of bleaches. Never use bleaches, it will ruin your BJJ kimono. If you get blood or other stains on it, run it under cold water and scrub the affected area. The sooner you wash it the better!
Do not dry the gi under the sun. The sun will dry out the fibers and reduce the durability of your gi. To dry your sweaty gi under the sun is even worse. The formula (sweat + sun=) will terminate the fabric. Do not do this!
If you have a black or blue gi you can put it in the washer with cold water and 2-3 cups of white vinegar. After 20-30 minutes you start the washing cycle and soap if you want. The vinegar process will help set the color and reduce fading. We recommend using a color-safe detergent and like said above, wash in cold water and hang dry your BJJ kimono. Be aware that BJJ kimonos fade in time no matter what. There's no way around it but at least it shows you train frequently and hard, that is a good thing!
